Ruby is pushing all the right buttons in this brand new edition of Ruby’s Corner. From her stop-and-think Corner Conversation piece that draws attention to some less than lovely truths, to a crispy potato recipe in Corner Cuisine that will make you go “Mmmmm”.
Ruby recently had the pleasure of singing vocals on two songs on the upcoming album of Daniel Powter. Most know Powter for his Billboard #1 charted hit, “Bad Day“. The new album is being produced by Better Than Ezra’s Kevin Griffin and engineered by Ethan Allen (Sheryl Crow, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The 88).
This Fall, Ruby will add to her accomplishments being a contributing writer to the highly revered new online magazine, Paper Saint! Her monthly editions, Ruby’s Corner, will include social musings, personal recipes from Ruby’s kitchen, as well as her favorite music of the moment.
Check out Paper Saint often for updated articles by Ruby and all of the other wonderful writers.
Ruby joins Norah Jones, Jason Isbell, Karen Elson and many more to pay a tribute to the legend that is Bob Dylan. Rolling Stone magazine has a great feature here.
The few times performers did stray from Dylan’s Sixties and Seventies catalog, it was done to great effect. Ruby Amanfu’s naked, cathartic take on “Not Dark Yet” from Time Out of Mind received the largest applause of the evening, while actor Lukas Hass teamed up with Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney and Dhani Harrison for a rousing take on the Traveling Willburys‘ 1988 song “Congratulations.”
If you haven’t been living in a remote cave in the desert, you should know that Ruby performed at this year’s Voodoo Music Experience. It was an exciting and captivating set, and there’s no doubt she and her Nashville band set the stage on fire. Check out some of the latest press articles.
